About me

My name is Sarah Bouvier.  I have a degree in Psychology & Drama and a diploma in Life Coaching.

How would I describe myself?  Possibly as someone who loves a challenge but likes to feel that the odds are in her favour.

Family and friends are very important to me, as is a fulfilling career.

I have always been interested in other people's stories. Even before life coaching, I loved hearing about people's successes and especially love that moment when someone works out exactly what they want to do next.

I am also a realist and appreciate that life isn't always easy, sometimes even when it seems it should be.

My work history:

After graduating I joined with a friend who had set up a Theatre in Education Company in Birmingham. A year of hard work and fun culminated in us earning our Equity Cards.

I then taught English as a Foreign Language in Italy, Poland & Argentina.  While working in Italy I took the opportunity to set up and run a summer school.  A local English teacher had asked me to pick up some brochures while I was back visiting England. I thought about everything I would want to offer the students, researched and priced it, and put together my own brochure. On my return I explained what I had done and handed over the brochures, including mine!  I waited with baited breath and crossed fingers - they chose ‘Big World’, my summer school!  At times it was a nightmare trying to set things up from another country, but in spite of this I enjoyed every minute of it.  The summer school was a great success, everything I had hoped for, and for the first time in my life I had earned some real money.

When I returned to the UK I worked in the marketing department of a large corporate company up until I had my son.  It was at this time that I started toying with the idea of setting up a business buying and selling second hand children’s clothes, toys and equipment. The seed had been sown for ‘Childzplay’ and a few years later I set up a shop with a friend. After a great deal of hard but enjoyable work it became well systemized, well-loved and well-known. But our location was a challenge and, in spite of our best efforts, after 2 years the business ceased trading.  However, it really was a fantastic adventure and will always feel like a great achievement, something I will never regret doing.

This brings me to ‘Simply Life Coaching’.  After ‘Childzplay’ it took some real soul searching to work out what I wanted to do.  I have always felt it to be a shame we aren’t supported more in working out what we really want to do with our lives.  I have a friend whose husband has always struck me as very lucky.  He knew from a very early age that he wanted to be a vet.  His ambition was clear so he has always been focused.  He achieved his dream and loves his job.

Life coaching addresses my desire to motivate others to achieve their dreams.  My aim is to be excellent and offer 110% to all my clients.
